Experiment #156: Roasting Finca La Falda from Colombia

A new coffee has arrived on our shores! This time we have a glorious Colombian coffee from Finca La Falda!
This is a fully washed Caturra coffee grown at 1,940masl and was farmed by Jose Arcadio Caro Rueda.
The coffee has previously placed 7th in the Colombian Cup of Excellence and we are super excited to share this coffee!

We have tested ten different roast profiles on this coffee and here are what we discovered this coffee has to offer.
Some of the flavours we've experienced so far from our experimental roasts are : Chrysanthemum, Grapefruit, Blood Orange, Blackcurrants, Peach, Plum, Nectarine, Juicy, Brown Sugar, Maple Syrup, Snickers Bar Chocolate. 

It was a really difficult decision choosing between some of the experimental roasts because they all tasted super sweet and incredible! It came down to 2 choices, a complex and juicy filter roast with flavours of Grapefruit, Blood Orange and Nectarines with an aftertaste of Houjicha, or a super sweet espresso roast with loads of Plum, Brown sugar and Maple Syrup. We decided to go with the filter roast in the end as we felt it showcased the true flavour potential of the coffee with its complexity and immense flavours. It was the true greater coffee experience.
