The coffee genus has about 100 species, only a few of which are commercially relevant. Most notably, Coffea Arabica which makes up approximately 70% of the world’s commercial coffee production. Coffea Canephora ( aka “Robusta” ) makes up the rest of commercial coffee production at approximately 28-29% with Coffea Liberica claiming third place at roughly 1%. Within the Arabica species, there are numerous varieties which have been cultivated across the centuries for their different advantages from higher harvest yields to disease resistance and flavour. This poster helps to document some of the most commonly found varieties within the Arabica species used in specialty coffee.
